Duck or Get Hit

The untouched issues, why aren’t they addressed?
J E Wilson

By now Americans should be pretty aware that the issues of discussion for this campaigns on both sides is going to be the bailout. The candidates will do anything to avoid other issues that affect the voters. We have heard very little about a national healthcare program, outsourcing American jobs, or the environment. The environment has been talked about by both sides, the Republicans want to pollute every inch of protected lands to help oil barons make more money. The Democrats are more in favor, for the most part, of saving fragile lands for future generations. We all know that President Bush would rather put up oil drilling rigs in place of windmills and solar arrays.
One issue that has been crushing the working class for ten plus years is the onslaught of illegal immigrants working in America, stealing the few jobs left for US citizens, then sending our weakening dollar south of the border. Dollars we need in our market.
I know that some of you are thinking this country is a “Melting Pot” or that I am a racist. I am not a racist and I taught high school history and know the melting pot arguments. According to “Pew Hispanic Center analysis of Census data” reports that in 2006 there were an estimated 11.5 million illegal aliens in the US. In 2007 the estimated population grew to 12.4 million and this year they estimated that the population has dropped to 11.9 million. Many Pres. Bush has done some good by running the country into the ground. Even illegal immigrants cannot find work or save a dollar, it must be better in Mexico right now.
The again we have to remember that there are the National Guard is helping to seal our southern borders, the pursuit of immigrants trying to cross into this country is on the rise, vigilance of businesses hiring illegal immigrants, and other watches of employers maybe helping.
I want to know what will the candidates be doing to bring jobs home from foreign countries, what new jobs will be created for the working classes (middle and lower classes), and whatever happened to the “Great Wall” between Mexico and United States?
If it is still being built then the bailout is nothing in comparison to the wall. $700 billion is a drop in the buck in comparison the estimated $9 million per mile it’s going to cost taxpayers.
I am unsure how far the government planned or plans to take the wall, but from Laredo, TX to San Diego, CA it will run an estimated 1300 miles. The cost would have been or will be $11.7 trillion dollars. Even it the wall cost $900 thousand per mile it would still cost $1,17 billion.
Government waste is happening across the Capital and we are picking up the bill as the politicians scratch there heads, sit on their ass, and pat each other on the back for doing nothing for the average American. The government acts like they are at a fraternity party not working for us. Bush and McCain need to stop partying and go to class.
I see a lot of small businesses failing or going bankrupt without any bailout. If we asked about anything other than healthcare, bailouts, Iraq, or Palin the candidates would be stumped and stupefied onstage or in the media.
