Duck or Get Hit: Biden, Palin and Bailout
Duck or Get Hit
Biden, Palin, and Bailout
J E Wilson
First thing first, lets visit the bailout and why President Bush and others pushed for it so hard. Was it really for the benefit of the American public and the markets or are they obligated or invested in certain markets and banks themselves? It was a necessary evil or was it?
Look at Wachovia and the Wells Fargo merger. This is a perfect example of how banks should handle a crisis like the one this nation has fallen into. If no banks can make deals to be bought out by other institutions or merged then they should apply for loans from the government or other resources or let them flounder to their death.
Palin did not impress me one bit. She really made a major blunder in the form of a compliment to the American worker by saying (paraphrased), America has the hardest working people in the world and is the strongest producer in the world. Yet unemployment is at 6.1% and some of this nations biggest, most popular, and powerful business are outsourcing overseas? Here are several that may amaze you: AT&T, Bank of America (What!), Coca-Cola, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, John Deere, Wachovia (outsourcing really helped them), Whirlpool, Xerox and unbelievably the US Government. So how can the Republicans talk of our job market, while somebody outsourced the production of this counties own passports, which were outsourced to Denmark, who outsourced them to Thailand.
Either somebody did not bring Palin up to date on the issue or she just winged it and thought a compliment would suffice for a topic she knew nothing about. Toss in the fact that she cannot remember a top General’s name we are in trouble if McCain passes-on as President.
I thought that Biden was strong and knew the answers the voters wanted to hear. This country is so divided by party’s that the real issues and solutions are lost to this division. I may not agree with everything Biden said, but he has experience and if he were an African American he would be a shoe in as President. As a white lower middle class voter I am pulling for Obama.
I am going to “Pull a Palin” (retreating to a previous question/subject she is confident with when asked a question she may not be sure how to answer). Who pays for this bailout when it fails 3-years down the road? Does the government pass a bill for $14 billion when taxes are already being used to payoff the first bailout?
The Obama/Biden ticket is the only ticket that will break through the black clouds hanging over the American people. The McCain/Palin ticket is a hurricane like nothing we have seen before and will devastate this country. Palin wants to expand the role or power of the Vice President
My last question for Palin is: When you referred to “Joe six-pack” are you referring to a man with six pack abs or the hardworking man having a beer after a hard days work? If she Palin were a dog I would take her behind the barn a shoot her.
